About Fashion Denver
The
big names in fashion aren’t just in New York, Paris
or Milan these days. With a wealth of talented local artists
and designers in Denver, the mile high city is on the rise
as a style scene all of its own.
Created
as a way to unite local designers in touch with both the
public and each other, Fashion Denver works to build networks,
create business relationships, and allow people to share
their passion for fashion.
Every
season, Fashion Denver brings together Colorado’s
talented clothing, handbag, and accessory designers for
Fashion Denver’s successful fashion markets. Fashionistas
and style- makers can find the best in unique, hip designs
as well as take in a great local music and activities, and
creative clothing and accessory artists have their chance
to shine.
Year-round
events sponsored by Fashion Denver include fashion shows,
boutique openings, and other landmark occasions that allow
Denver fashion celebrities to both find and wear their unique,
hip looks. The fun of fashion in Denver just never ends!
The
brains behind Fashion Denver is Brandi Shigley, a local
entrepreneur who started in the world of design herself.
Working to build her successful line of handbags, B.Shigley
Designs, Brandi learned a great deal about not only the
creative end of design, but also marketing, promotion, and
the tools for building a business. Sharing this information
with others, Brandi hopes to help other dreamers achieve
their own success. “Do what you love. Love what you
do,” is not only a message she gives to others, but
words she lives by herself.
A
Colorado native, Brandi moved to California for a brief
interim, only to return to her mountain state with a wealth
of new ideas for the community.
Inspired
by the Fashion Co-Op and WearHaus events in Southern California,
Brandi decided to bring her expertise and passion to the
burgeoning fashion community to her home of Denver. Today,
she works with a variety of boutiques, artists and independent
designers in an effort to both help grow their individual
businesses as well as build the community.
Her
efforts within the city and beyond have already earned her
the recognition and appreciation of others in the creative
world. In 2005, Brandi received the Mastermind Award from
Denver’s influential alternative weekly publication,
Westword. She’s also been heralded as one of the “Top
40 Under 40” by the Denver Business Journal, and was
declared 5280 Magazine’s “Up and Comer of the
Year” in 2001.
Brandi’s
personal look is an inspiration to many budding fashion-forward
folks, and sharing this style with the city is what she’s
all about.
Surrounded
by talented, inspirational creators, Brandi is helping the
Denver fashion market take on a stylish life of its own.
