Faith Lefever (Gnarls Zombie)

When did you start designing?
I first started designing when I was in middle school, I was not sewing often, but I would make skirts, alter my clothing, and made plenty of hideous things. I really started to sew and design about two years ago.
How would you describe the style of your designs?
I would have to say bold, and maybe sometimes sexy. I love working with prints, the weirder the better!
Where do you find your inspiration?
Most of my inspiration comes from pinup couture, but I find inspiration from everywhere. I may see a movie, or a shirt, or even from listening to music.
What materials do you usually work with?
For my aprons I love working with cotton, and lace.
What is the first piece you ever made?
The first apron I made was about 6 months ago. I could not find an apron that I liked, so I decided to make my own, and to make it reversible. A bunch of my friends saw it, and loved it, and then soon friends were requesting to have one, and then friends of friends. The first real "outfit" I made was a striped black and white "wedding" dress.
If you could dress anyone in the world, who would it be?
Honestly, if I could dress anyone in the world, it would be the average everyday women. Every women should feel sexy, even if they are just cooking a family meal.
Where can we find your designs?
You can find them on etsy, or you can go to my website www.gnarlszombie.com and contact me, I also have a facebook page for Gnarls Zombie, and have people contact through there for custom aprons.
