Molli
Yoder was raised in Boulder, CO and has always enjoyed the
beauty of nature and has been involved in the arts. She pursued
her education in art at Rocky Mountain College of Art &
Design receiving an Associates Degree in Environmental Design.
After 3 years creating designs for a local ski company she
returned to school to get her BA in Speech Communications
at Metropolitan State College of Denver.
Molli
never left behind her artistic creation. She does decorative
painting, acrylic painting, home decoration and of course,
jewelry making. Although she took a jewelry class in High
School, she is mostly self-taught.
The
end autumn of 2008 she really became involved in her jewelry
making after a trip to Murano, Italy. “The silver foiled
glass & blown glass beads were so magical, I couldn’t
wait to get home and experiment!” says Molli.
Her
designs are unique, fresh and bold. She uses hand picked semi-precious
stone, vintage and glass beads along with unusual metal chains,
including sterling silver. Combining these different materials
she builds colorful asymmetrical pieces that create movement.
Molli is inspired by her comprehensive travel and nature –
that is where she gets the interesting & sometimes quirky
names for each piece. Her jewelry is a scaled down work-of-art
for the woman’s body which acts as the canvas.
