TRICIA HOKE SIGNATURE

How would you describe the style of your designs?

Avant- garde, versitile, creative, edgy...

Where do you find your inspiration?

Everywhere.. For this collection I started with an item (a ring) thought about what it represented (matrimony), and spent time exploring how a ring can move on a body to create clothing... I took all of my color inspiration from my urban daily travels... keeping in a nutrael color pallate. Most of my themes are pretty artistic... I focus on a general feeling or idea and transfer it to clothing.

What materials do you usually work with?

I love to work with jersey knits, and other stretch fabrics. I also like to incorporate natural fabrics like linen, silk, cotton... and other natural elements... like wood, metal, etc. I really focus on the sculpture of the garment. I like to create new sillohettes and create garments that move or change in creative ways.

What is the story behind the name of your line?

Well, its my name... not so much of a story actually.

What is the first piece you ever made?

Wow, I can not remember... I know I was making sock dolls when I was 5.... In high school I started wearing my creations. I have had a few labels previous to debuting my signature collection earlier this year. I used to design under the name Tricia Russell, Numbskull Knits, Potential Fashions.

If you could dress anyone in the world, who would it be?

Not really interested in dressing one person... I just create the clothing, and hope that the edgy, stylish women of the world like it!
